Artist:
Vyacheslav Shraga - (1953 - ) - Vyacheslav Shraga was born in Mariupol, a city in the South of Russia, in 1953. He graduated from the Krasnodar Art School in 1972. In 1974, after completing the mandatory two years in the army, he moved to St. Petersburg. In 1980, he founded the "Alpha-Contrast" studio, and has since been teaching young painters.

Shraga's creative reasoning is best expressed in his own words: "The life of each human being is a unique phenomenon, brief as a flash of light in the duration of which the human gets to know the world and its eternal values. My life is not an exception. This is the reason and theme for my work. The further my childhood and youth recede into the fog of nostalgia, the more I want to fix them forever in my memory by transforming them into art."

The artist's works have been purchased by the municipal museum in Rome, the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris, the Metropolitan museum in New York, as well as by numerous private collectors from Russia, the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Israel, Canada, Sweden, and Belgium.
